My Story

My journey into audiology began back in 2009.
Music has been a significant part of my life, whether through singing or playing various instruments.
At some point I started to notice and think about situations where people are not able to hear, at all or just worse than we are used to.
That lead me to volunteer with people with hearing loss, learn sign language and discover more about ways to help people with hearing loss.

That’s when I found out about audiology and started to look for ways to study it.

I began my studies with an undergraduate program in special education.
At first it seems completely unrelated but I’ve always been grateful for this background. It provided me with valuable knowledge in psychology, education, human development, speech development, and communication that I wouldn’t have gained solely through studying audiology.

To continue my road in becoming an audiologist my journey lead me to England where I completed my Master’s studies in Audiology.

I am incredibly grateful for this phase of my life because, in addition to the theoretical studies, I had the chance to work for a year in high-quality audiology clinics, gaining invaluable practical training. Moreover, I was fortunate to have amazing mentors and encounter unique opportunities that shaped my journey.

After graduation I started my work as a clinical audiologist.

For over 5 years, I worked with patients spanning various age groups, from newborns to the elderly.
During this time, I addressed a wide range of audiological issues, including diagnosing hearing and balance disorders, administering vestibular rehabilitation, fitting hearing assistive devices (excluding cochlear implants), offering assistance with tinnitus and sound sensitivities, and providing counselling on hearing preservation, among other things.

I have always cherished the diverse work of an audiologist, but as the years passed, I began to recognize the significance of prevention and became increasingly intrigued by it.

From the very beginning of my career as an audiologist, I have actively engaged in conducting audiological trainings for healthcare professionals from various fields, including general practitioners, ear-nose-throat doctors, neurologists, and occupational medicine doctors, among others.

Throughout my career, I’ve regularly shared educational information with the general public through newsletter articles, radio interviews, and TV appearances.

During my clinical work, I frequently heard patients expressing their wish to have been more informed before their issues began. In recent years, this feedback has driven my focus toward educating the general public.

While not all audiological problems can be prevented, there are several that can be. Unfortunately, in many cases, the damage cannot be reversed; it can only be prevented.
This is what keeps me going.

I jokingly call myself a preventative virtual audiologist.

I hope to provide you, too, with valuable information about your ears and hearing system.

Your questions, concerns, and ideas are always welcome. The more I understand the questions you want answers to, the more helpful information I can provide.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
